Spring signs 1

Spring hit Vancouver and Nature is starting awakening! :)
Here's the first sign!

A Great Blue Heron at Lost Lagoon, in Vancouver! I was so close that I couldn’t believe it! :D
I just found out that Vancouver has the largest Great-Blue-Heron colony in the world. They get here in March to start their new families.

.

@CElliottUK: I have been very lucky! :) I met this Heron the day after I wrote on your blog "I've never seen a Heron before, Chris!" AH AH

DESPITE STRAIGHT LINES from The bosom of nature Canada &, United Kingdom

What a glorious and beautiful specimen. I'm back home to Vancouver in a few months time and can't wait to see these gorgeous birds once more, as you say, so plentiful in the area. They are seen often in the trees by the harbour in Sidney and many other locations and I often encounter them on my morning photoshoots, but don't posess any long lenses capable of doing their beauty justice as you have here. A lovely frame.

@DESPITE STRAIGHT LINES: Hi Paul! Thank you so much for the visit! Be sure to go to English Bay in Vancouver, then. And then walk toward the Lost Lagoon and just look up in the air and you'll see their nests. :) I have been pretty lucky, because I met this Heron who was looking out at the water at Lost Lagoon. I could get 2 meters far! With my 18-105mm lens, I think this photo is a very lucky one! :)
