Sicilia! 10

This is the image #10 (of 12) of the Sicilian series.
Bottles of Marsala wine on display at the Cantine Florio, the largest producer in the world. Marsala is a fortified wine similar to Porto.
I LOVE Marsala wine! I tried to bring a bottle on the flight back to Canada, but the hostess was soooo strict with the luggage weight...she was really really sorry that I had to leave my precious bottle at the check in... :(

@Kenny: Hi Kenny! This will make me enjoy Marsala muuuuch much better next time :)

Veronique from Sarrouilles, France

well sure she knew all about this DELICIOUS wine to be soooooo strict about the weight and had a marvelous degustation time

@Veronique: Yeah, she probably got drunk that very night! Ah ah!

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

That really had me looking! The chicken wire and the bottle seemed to be unusually in focus-but of course it works. Great shot

@CElliottUK: Thanks a lot, Chris! Yes, it's a tricky chicken wire, ah ah! :D

Doug Hickok from Charleston, South Carolina, United States

Wonderful image of vintage wine. I love the aged look of the old bottle.

@Doug Hickok: Hi Doug! Some of these bottles were from 1889! Can you believe that? Tomorrow a shot of a very old cask of wine ;)

Gary from Cochise County, United States

I like the fact that this one label stands out with the strong contrast in B&W.

31 Mar 2011 3:45pm

@Gary: Hey Gary! Yes, the original is bright yellow and red :)

Franz from Baden, Austria

cool photo of these old wines! i must admit i've never tried marsala, though i'm a great friend of good port! too bad you couldn't have your wine in the plane with you! the flight would have been so much nicer ... ;-))

@Franz: "Thanks for choosing Air Marsala. You get drunk. We fly you home." :P

DESPITE STRAIGHT LINES from The bosom of nature Canada &, United Kingdom

I think I may have been inclined to drink it rather than leave it! Wine and me, that's a long lasting love affair, A terrific frame and I swear that the wire moves every time I look at it.

@DESPITE STRAIGHT LINES: Hi Paul!! Thanks for the visit! It's always very nice to read you. No bottle opener right there, with the boarding in a few minutes :( I am so much happy that you like this image! Very very happy! :)
