Last week we rented a buggy and drove up to the outlook on Moorea Island. Moorea has a shape of a three-finger paw. The mountain in this image is the central finger. You can notice the point where the water changes color before entering the two bays. That is where the ocean meets the barrier reef. Charles Darwin once described this island as “a picture in a frame”, referring to the barrier reef that surrounds Moorea.
