I found a cut palm on a beach on Moorea, one of the Tahitian islands. They cut it at the base and left the bottom part of the palm there. This is a close up of the section surface. Apparently a palm has zillions of straws going through it, from bottom to top.

In these days, I have a very very limited access to the Internet. So, forgive me if I don't reply soon. I do read your comments and I will catch up with you :) :)

No post processing for this image, as usual :)
