The time stopped

Posted by
L'explorateur (Vancouver, Canada) on 13 December 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

At this time of the year, in the North West, winter is trying to kick in, bit by bit. It rains for a week. Then the sun fights back for a few hours and the air gets really cold. Then again water. Snow is something special. Even when flakes come down for just one day, everything changes. Here at Jericho Beach, the time seemed to rest for a while.

No post processing for this image, as usual. :)

This is so very beautiful. I love the mood and soft tones. The perfect title

@✿ Anina ✿: Thanks Anina. I was going to work, that morning. I usually take the road along the beach. After the traffic light, I turn right and there it was. It's really been like if the time stopped for me. I pulled over and in a few moments I found myself on the sidewalk, with the camera in my hands, looking at that beauty.

@MARIANA: I was driving when I went past. I didn't even think. I found myself out of the car, with the camera. :)

Gary from Cochise County, United States

I love the muted color in some of the trees in an otherwise monochromatic image. Wonderful.

@Gary: One thing I like is the shadow if the trees. The impression is that there is not a well defined light source, but there it is a circular shadow. Thanks for your comment Gary.

@marci: Thanks Marci. Now every time I go there I look for this time-resting feeling. But I guess I have to wait for the snow to come back. :)
